A 4-part webinar series on Dismantling Anti-Black Racism in Psychologist, Psychotherapist and Clinical Assessment spaces.

This upcoming Zoom webinar series is for you!

This series is running for 4 consecutive Wednesdays, for one hour per week, starting Wednesday July, 8, 2020 and concluding on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.

The learning objectives for this Canadian series includes:

  • Understanding the historical roots of anti-Black racism, and the intersectionality of oppressions , and how this impacts the experience of therapy and service access for Black communities

  • Unpacking White supremacy culture & structures

  • Meaningfully engaging in a safe space for dialogue and questions you have about this work and context

July 15, 2020 - Part 2: What is White Supremacy Culture?

July 22, 2020 - Part 3: Confronting Anti-Black Racism in the Workplace

July 29, 2020 - Part 4: Anti-Black Racism in South Asian Communities

Early Bird Rate: $99 (until July 6, 2020)

Full Rate after July 6, 2020 is $129.

About the Facilitators

Evelyn Myrie, Founder of EMpower Strategy Group , is a consultant, trainer, and community leader who has held numerous leadership positions in government, business and the non-profit sector with a strong focus on helping organizations translate their mission into action. She has been an independent businesswoman, served as program director at Status of Women Canada, worked for diversity as the executive director of the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion and founding director of Peel Newcomer Strategy Group, and founded the Rev. John C. Holland Awards to recognize Black achievement in Hamilton.

The community has recognized her accomplishments with several awards for leadership, including Woman of the Year in Public Affairs, the Phenomenal Woman award, and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal. In 2011, Evelyn was inducted into Hamilton’s prestigious Gallery of Distinction.

Leena Sharma Seth, Founder of Mending the Chasmis an experienced facilitator, coach, trainer, and speaker.

With over twenty years of experience in various leadership roles, in Canada and Asia, Leena has worked in non-profit, consulting, education, philanthropic and supplier diversity spaces, largely with organizations in a start-up phase. She has leveraged her entrepreneurial spirit, her ability to adapt, and her intuitive ability to create authentically inclusive organizations to produce meaningful community impact.

Most recently, Leena achieved her Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP) designation with the Canadian Centre for Diversity & Inclusion and is trained as a Circle Way facilitator, a process that promotes racial, gender, ethnic, economic, environmental justice, and equity within organizational and community spaces.

With a strong passion for inclusion, Leena has a unique ability to create spaces that are safe, respectful, reflective, and ripe for change. She believes that meeting people where they are is integral to any long-term successful systems change initiative.
